Hot on the hot pink heels of box-office success Barbie, Mattel plans to open a Mattel theme park in Arizona. The Mattel Adventure Park will see popular brands like Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends, and Barbie come to life in 2024.
Moreover, the attractions will be based on timeless brands children have grown up with – UNO, Magic 8 Ball, Pictionary, and more. Besides these, two Hot Wheels-themed roller coasters and a life-sized Barbie Beach House will make every kid’s dream a reality.
The Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride is a family-friendly coaster featuring its iconic hot rod skull design. Likewise, the Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer will take guests to new heights via a double loop and two corkscrews.
Mattel Adventure Park: Coming Soon in 2024
In an official Mattel statement, the Senior Director of Global Location Based Entertainment, Julie Freeland, shared, “Mattel Adventure Park is an amazing opportunity to bring our beloved brands to life. We’re especially excited for families to experience the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker rollercoaster – a dream come true for any Hot Wheels fan.”
Other exciting attractions at the Mattel Adventure Park are:
- Thomas & Friends: World of Sodor – Guests can visit seven family-friendly attractions and rides alongside a dedicated indoor play area for younger kids.
- Barbie Beach House – The life-size replica of Barbie’s home will let guests live their ultimate Barbie Dream Closet Experience. The attraction will also include a rooftop bar and restaurant with a view.
- Masters of the Universe – Designed like a Castle Grayskull fortress, the 4,500 sq ft laser tag arena will keep families entertained and active.
- 9-Hole Mini Golf – With a creative twist, the attraction is inspired by Pictionary, Magic 8 Ball, and other Mattel games. Beyond that, a larger-than-life UNO structure will have kids – and their parents – racing to reach the top.
The Mattel Adventure Park is built in partnership with resort destinations developer Epic Resort Destinations. Mark Cornell, Epic Resort Destinations President, stated, “Our Attractions Development team are simply redefining the entertainment channel by bringing Mattel’s powerhouse, evergreen brands to life like never before.”
Built on the 60-acre Vai Resort, the 9-acre Mattel Adventure Park will house indoor and outdoor attractions for all ages. For a comfortable and fun experience, the park’s indoor space will be fully air-conditioned and open all year-round.
