Coca-Cola joins Global Citizen to help healthcare workers on Covid-19 frontlines

The Coca-Cola Company, a winner at the World Branding Awards and a Global Citizen partner, has signed on to support the “One World: Together At Home” effort, which will be televised on major broadcast networks and live-streamed on digital platforms worldwide on Saturday, 18 April, at 8 p.m. ET. Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.

A roster of musical acts curated in collaboration with Lady Gaga will join millions of viewers around the world in collectively celebrating the brave healthcare workers doing life-saving work on the front lines of the global crisis.

A star-studded lineup of some of the world’s top musical artists and entertainers will unite virtually this weekend for “One World: Together At Home”, a cross-platform global special organised by Global Citizen in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Coca-Cola Company’s purpose to refresh the world and make a difference has never been more important or more relevant,” said Bea Perez, SVP and Chief Communications, Public Affairs, Sustainability and Marketing Assets Officer.

“Through valued partners like Global Citizen, we are able to share our purpose in a meaningful way that encourages solidarity and strength. During these unprecedented times when we cannot be together in person, it’s even more important to come together virtually to help minimise the spread of COVID-19 by pledging to stay at home. We’re proud to be part of such a groundbreaking event.”

A custom 30-second message from Coca-Cola will run during the multi-hour global digital broadcast of “One World: Together At Home”, which will feature additional musical performances, celebrity appearances and unique stories from healthcare heroes.

Commitments from supporters and corporate partners like Coca-Cola will go to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO to equip frontline healthcare workers around the world with masks, gowns and other vital equipment, and to local charities providing food, shelter and healthcare to those who need it most.
