Planters gets ready for crunch time at the Super Bowl with a campaign featuring baseball legend, Alex Rodriguez, and mascot, Mr. Peanut.

Planters will debut its first Super Bowl spot starring the brand’s iconic mascot, Mr. Peanut. The creative also features baseball great, Alex Rodriguez. Developed by VaynerMedia, it will air during the game’s second quarter. A campaign teaser has been created to drive buzz.

The snack giant will reveal new developments leading up to the Big Game. A series of activations has been curated for promotional purposes at the biggest American sporting event of the year. Prizes will be given out, while brand followers can connect on Twitter.

“Planters is one of the biggest snack brands in America and this is one of the biggest snacking days of the year. It is only natural Mr. Peanut is there to show fans he has their backs, whether baseball legends or passionate football fans.” said Luke Cole, Director of Marketing, Snacks & Desserts at Kraft Heinz.
