The latter maintains its name and operate as a specialist brand within the network, extending Dentsu Aegis’s Canadian footprint

Dentsu Aegis Network will acquired Grip, a Canadian agency renowned for its creative, digital, and branded content work. The move extends the group’s footprint and continues the expansion of its digital offering in the region. Maintaining its name, the latter operate as a specialist brand within the network.

Founded in 2002 and Toronto-based, it is a full-service firm which now counts more than 150 employees among its ranks. Meanwhile, it credits its early adoption of digital capabilities, including social, analytics, mobile, CRM, and branded content creation as the main drivers of its growth.

Following the acquisition, the agency will continue to be managed by the senior leadership team made up of the founding partners. They include Managing Partner, Bob Shanks, as well as five Creative Partners namely David Crichton, David Chiavegato, Rich Pryce Jones, Randy Stein, and Scott Dube.

“This is an acquisition to increase our scale with an established global client base, enhance our digital capabilities, and achieve a dominant position in the market. We look forward to helping Grip expand its reach and contribute to the overall offering of Dentsu Aegis Network,” said Annette Warring, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Canada.
