Nando’s has released its first-ever restaurant sauce collaboration, Peri Peri Saka, created by the Arsenal midfielder Bukayo Saka.

Peri Peri Saka: The Starboy’s Signature Sauce

In honour of the debut, Nando’s released a video campaign called ‘Yes Chef,’ where Saka is shown joining Nando’s kitchen crew to perfect the recipe.

They crafted a winning sauce by combining his love for smoky BBQ and tangy tomato with Nando’s signature PERi-PERi. The result? A sweet and fiery blend with a subtle kick, balanced by rich tomato, fragrant garlic, and smoky paprika.

It’s worth noting that whether adding a kick of chilli or dialling up the garlic and lemon, Saka proves he’s a star both on and off the field.

The PERi-PERi Saka bottle isn’t just a flavour explosion; it’s a visual feast, too. Nando’s partnered with acclaimed artist Reuben Dangoor to create the design, marking a first for their restaurant sauce bottles.

He uses bold colours and playful illustrations, seamlessly integrating Saka’s face and hair into the silhouette of a fiery red chilli. This symbolises the sauce’s intense heat with a touch of personality.

Furthermore, this striking image is juxtaposed against a vibrant blue background, a nod to the limited edition nature of the sauce and the brand’s inaugural collaboration.

Nando’s typically gravitates towards orange tones, making this departure into blue hues particularly noteworthy.

Nando’s x Bukayo Saka

Saka, who has been known to be a big fan of the Portuguese-style UK-staple restaurant, said via the press release,

“I love it and can’t wait for everyone to try it. I’ve been going to Nando’s since I was little, so to have my own PERi-PERi sauce in every restaurant in the country is quite mad! My family’s really important to me so I wanted to make sure they liked it, too. As soon as my Dad said he was a fan, I knew it was the one.”

The duo has reunited before. Saka previously starred in Nando’s 2023 TV commercial, ‘This Must Be The Place’. Moreover, the iconic PERi PERi palace has hosted his Dad’s birthday in past years.

All in all, the collaboration between Bukayo Saka and Nando’s represents not only a fusion of flavours but also a celebration of creativity and community.

Through the ‘Yes Chef’ campaign and the development of the signature sauce, Saka’s involvement showcases his versatility as a footballer and a cultural icon. As fans savour the fiery concoction, it symbolises the vibrant spirit of collaboration and innovation that transcends the boundaries of sports and cuisine.

On top of that, the Peri Peri Saka sauce exemplifies the power of combining different backgrounds and passions to create something truly one-of-a-kind.

PERi-PERi Saka is now available at all restaurants across the UK and Ireland for a limited time.
