Zebra Pen, a global leader in the writing instrument industry, has unveiled its new branding campaign – Find Zen in Your Pen

The campaign features a Zebra character, named Zen. Zen will serve as the Zebra “spokes-animal” and make shopping more engaging when searching for the perfect writing instrument.

“People are so busy these days, with work, school and other commitments; the last thing they need is more stress especially when shopping,” said Ken Newman, Director of Marketing at Zebra Pen Corporation. “So we are introducing Zen, a wise, but quirky Zebra who helps people choose the pen or pencil that meets their needs, stays within budget and most importantly… engage with the Zebra brand.”

“We have been working to create a personality for our brand, something that would stand out; something that consumers will connect to”

Zebra offers a full complement of writing instruments to meet almost every need. Some Zebra’s most popular items include the sleek and sturdy F-301 steel barreled ballpoint pen, which has many a devoted fan and is the leader of the extensive Steel line; the Sarasa line of no-smear gel pens, which come in an array of colours and are favoured by the creative in nature, teachers and people who like to use colour to keep things organised; and the popular Z-Grip Retractable Ballpoint pen, known for its reliability, value and smooth writing experience. There’s also Cadoozles Mechanical Pencils, which come in a variety of fun patterns and are a must have for students.

“We have been working to create a personality for our brand, something that would stand out; something that consumers will connect to. Our character Zen, imparts wisdom, but will not espouse any religious philosophy. Zen is a cool character that wants our customers to appreciate a simple, well-crafted writing implement, like those made by Zebra. Zen wants you to join him on this higher plane that will lead to success. Zen will have his own webpage and blog,” said Newman.
