With the launch of four new brands in five countries, visitors across the said markets now have more options to experience travel

Wyndham Hotel Group showcased outstanding growth in 2015 with the opening of 38 hotels and the addition of 5,089 rooms across Latin America and the Caribbean, a 90% increase compared to the year before. The chain’s system size in the region expanded to more than 18,917 rooms across 157 properties.

“2015 was a record breaking year for Wyndham Hotel Group in Latin America and the Caribbean. We introduced more hotel rooms, new brands, and experienced the largest spike in Wyndham Rewards membership,” said Paulo Pena, President and MD at Wyndham Hotel Group in Latin America and the Caribbean.

With the launch of four new brands in five countries, visitors across the said markets now have more options to experience travel based on the brand’s service offerings and accommodations at its numerous upscale, mid-scale as well as economy destinations.

Flagship brand Wyndham Hotels and Resorts entered Argentina and Brazil. Wyndham Nordelta Tigre became the 35th Argentinian property in the group’s portfolio. In Brazil, Wyndham Pratagy Beach Resort became the first mixed-use property in the region—a tie-up with Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

Known for its Own the City service culture, TRYP by Wyndham was introduced in Mexico and Puerto Rico. The Mexico City location is just steps from the locale’s World Trade Center. TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde with views of the beach is close to the historic sites of Old San Juan.

Wyndham brought TRYP by Wyndham to Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport for the modern traveller. The first and sole hotel in the Southern Hemisphere to be situated within an airport terminal, it offers guests a unique place to stay or freshen up during a layover.

Midscale brand, Baymont Inn & Suites, debuted with the opening of Baymont Inn & Suites Lázaro Cárdenas in Mexico. The hotel is the 400th spot under the brand worldwide, which experienced massive expansion with 50 openings last year.

Meanwhile, located in the centre of Zona Viva, Days Inn Hotel in Guatemala City rolled out as a getaway for business travellers and tourists. Finally, the brand penetrated Barbados with the 450-room Sam Lord’s Castle Barbados, A Wyndham Grand Resort, set in Long Bay.
