The “Brass” edition elevates the Instapump Fury with a luxurious material shift—smooth leather graces the forefoot, offering a touch of sophistication. This transitions seamlessly to rugged, cracked leather at the heel, injecting a touch of raw energy.

A sleek, inflatable cage, finished in a matching metallic sheen, sits just above the heel, reinforcing both the luxurious theme and the shoe’s iconic Pump technology.

White accents on the tongue, Reebok branding, and midsole provide contrast and complete the design.

With its distinctive silhouette and innovative Pump technology, the Instapump Fury has remained a timeless classic in the world of sneakers, and this anniversary edition further solidifies its status as a beloved sneaker icon.

As reported by sneakernews.com, the Reebok Instapump Fury 94 “Brass” launched exclusively in Asia on March 29th. Global availability remains unconfirmed.

A Brief Look at the History of Reebok Instapump Fury 94

The Reebok Instapump Fury burst onto the scene in 1994, a revolutionary running shoe that shattered design conventions.

The shoe was initially intended as a performance shoe that would appeal to both serious and recreational runners.

Born from Reebok’s innovative “Pump” technology, the Instapump Fury featured an inflatable bladder that customised the fit for the wearer. But it was the shoe’s audacious aesthetics that genuinely set it apart.

Legendary designer Steven Smith and senior developer Paul Litchfield embarked on a challenging design journey to integrate the popular Pump technology into a running shoe. Their efforts culminated in the iconic Instapump Fury ‘Prototype’.

Debuting in early 1994, the shoe sported the now-iconic citron yellow accents, particularly on the rubber outsoles. However, the vibrant pigment proved too vibrant – its softness resulted in poor durability.

Despite this flaw, the ‘Prototype’ remains a coveted piece of Reebok history, a holy grail for dedicated vintage sneaker collectors.

Later, the rubber soles received an upgrade, shifting from Citron to carbon-infused black, resulting in substantial improvements in durability while still delivering outstanding traction across different pavement conditions.

A few months later, in September 1994, the ‘OG’ iteration of the Instapump Fury was released, though not technically the inaugural model.
