The newly-launched interactive Mitsubishi Mirage G4 experience allows drivers to use their phones and laptop together to test the car.
Mitsubishi Motors North America has launched a dual-screen interactive experience allowing drivers to use their phones and laptop together to test out the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4. The new model went on sale last month at showrooms across the United States.
Both the Mirage hatchback and Mirage G4 sedan are the first in their price class to offer Apple CarPlay support and Android Auto. The platform enables visitors to power up their smartphones to take control of said variant across an virtual reality midnight racing track.
After entering a unique URL, the user takes charge of an interactive film, using intuitive kinetic gestures to move the car through various scenes. Features such as the rear view camera, turning radius, Hill Start Assist as well as MPG are highlighted upon activation.
At the end, the driver is assigned a personality type like Wallet Watcher, Learner’s Permit or Mirage Master, and gets a highlight reel of their performance in the form of a shareable GIF. The featured music is scored by Los Angeles based DJ and electronic artiste, Nosaj Thing.
The agency behind the work is 180LA, while the production house engaged was Picnic. The new release comes equipped with smartphone integrations—features typically reserved for higher priced vehicles. Meanwhile, Android Auto extends the Android platform in a way which is purpose-built for driving.
“The Mirage G4 offers consumers a package that is unmatched in the industry. Our Night Drive campaign is a fitting way to launch this vehicle with the opportunity for our target audience to engage with the car through their smartphones,” said Francine Harsini, Senior Director, Marketing at Mitsubishi Motors North America.
