The famous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will make a comeback by the end of 2023, as announced recently. The extravagant show is returning after a four-year hiatus.

The Fashion Show features supermodels like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima, etc., famously called ‘Angels.’ However, the brand faced accusations of non-inclusivity and lack of body positivity models. Thus, Victoria’s Secret forcefully shut down the iconic show and its “Angels”. Nevertheless, this time the brand plans to bring back a new version of the awaited Fashion Show. It will ramp up the redemption arc to bring forth a completely new perspective in 2023.

Timothy Johnson, Victoria’s Secret CFO, stated, “We’re going to continue to lean into the marketing spend to invest in the business and also to support the new version of our fashion show, which is to come later this year. So, we’re going to invest in our marketing expense. We’re going to invest in the future.”

The celebrated Fashion Show was last held in 2018. The 2019 show got cancelled because of poor television ratings and a downturn in sales. In addition, the brand also mired in former CEO Les Wexner and Jeffrey Epstein’s close links’ controversy.

Timothy insinuated that this time the iconic show would drift away from the former guise of superficial glitter and glam. He said it would “reinforce our commitment to championing women’s voices and their unique perspectives”.

There are still no clarifications about what the revamped version would entail. But the retail giant said the upcoming show would reflect Victoria’s Secret’s “new brand projection and mission” towards inclusivity.
