Lady Gaga’s flabbergasting appearance at the 95th Academy Awards astonished the viewers. Stunningly, she performed her nominated song “Hold My Hand” at the event. After keeping the fans guessing until the last minute, she finally took to the Oscars 2023 stage in the show’s third hour.

The pop superstar initially reported that she would not perform at the ceremony because of scheduling conflicts with her forthcoming film, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux.’ Glenn Weiss, Oscar’s executive producer, confirmed her absence from the stage in a creative team press conference on March 8.

However, she surprised everyone by hitting the stage after all. Moreover, she stunned everyone with her strip-down performance. After walking the red carpet in her usual elaborate full glam style, she ditched the bold red lipstick and performed the powerful ballad without makeup, wearing ripped jeans and a plain black T-shirt with Converse sneakers. As a result, the star received a standing ovation inside the Dolby Theatre.

With Gaga performing on the Oscar stage this year, it will be the first ceremony in three years to include performances of all nominated songs. Other Oscars 2023 nominees for the Best Original Song include

  • Rihanna for Lift Me Up,
  • Stephanie Hsu, Son Lux and David Byrne for This Is a Life,
  • Sofia Carson and Diane Warren for Applause, and
  • Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj for Naatu Naatu.

The Oscars 2023 took place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre (Ovation Hollywood). The entire event was televised live on ABC and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
