Club Med, renowned for its expertise in luxury all-inclusive vacations, is set to introduce its inaugural resort in the Middle East by unveiling the Club Med Musandam project. This landmark initiative, born out of a partnership between Club Med, Royal Court Affairs, and Omran Group, developers of Club Med Musandam, represents an investment surpassing US$100 million.

What’s more, since 1950, Club Med has been a trailblazer in all-inclusive vacations under the sun and amidst snow. It continues to stand as a globally recognised leader, offering luxurious family-friendly retreats in breathtaking destinations worldwide.

In addition, President of Club Med, Henri Giscard d’Estaing, emphasises, “Club Med’s history and triumphs are rooted in our pioneering approach, which has played a vital role in advancing the regions and locales where we operate. The Club Med Musandam project stands as a significant milestone, marking our inaugural presence in the Middle East.”

Next, Club Med Musandam marks the brand’s first venture into the Middle East, selected specifically for its breathtaking natural allure and alignment with its ongoing dedication to spotlighting its resort destinations’ local environment and culture.

Not only that, “We’re continually exploring both renowned and hidden gems worldwide, but our mission includes uncovering the most extraordinary locales and showcasing them to our clientele,” shared Anne Browaeys, CEO of Club Med, in an exclusive interview with Business Traveller Middle East.

Thus, “We seek expansive spaces nestled amidst nature and picturesque surroundings—remarkable settings where guests can immerse themselves in the natural environment. Oman was the initial jewel we discovered in the region”, she added.

Furthermore, through its strategic collaboration with Dnata Travel, Club Med has experienced rapid growth within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations in recent years. The brand provides high-quality, all-inclusive beach and mountain holiday experiences tailored for families. Club Med continues expanding its footprint in the region by catering to leisure travellers and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) corporate clients throughout the GCC.

Additionally, the company collaborated closely with Oman’s governmental and tourism authorities to meticulously select the ideal location for their inaugural presence in the Middle East. It will be the first of six resorts planned for the region in the coming years. Spanning over 250,000 square meters of land, the resort will feature a 600-meter private beach.

Next, sustainability will be a core focus, committed to eco-certification through globally recognised independent eco-construction certification such as BREEAM or its local equivalent. In Oman, Club Med aims to attain a 4-star rating from the Green Building Council of SA (GBCSA) for this development.

As masters of experiential travel, Club Med’s Musandam resort will present diverse activities for guests to savour, ranging from sports and wellness to culinary delights and beyond. Additionally, many family-friendly options catering to all ages will be available, underscoring the brand’s hallmark personalised service.

Moreover, the project will demonstrate a profound commitment to integrating local culture by collaborating with indigenous providers and sourcing materials and resources locally wherever feasible. Anticipated to create over 400 direct employment opportunities and an additional 800 indirect jobs, this new venture promises to impact the region substantially.

Apart from that, “This collaboration with Club Med marks a significant milestone aligned with the objectives of Omran Vision 2040, which seeks to attract 11 million tourists to Oman and enhance the influx of international visitors to the Sultanate,” stated H.E. Mr. Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

Construction on Club Med Musandam is expected to commence in early 2026 and span approximately 26 months. The resort’s grand opening is projected for 2028.
