A tribute to its storied heritage, Subaru has launched its new blue and gold racing livery for 2019, alongside its updated motorsports branding.

Returning to its signature blue and gold, Subaru of America has unveiled its most recent  motorsports livery. A blue pearl base meets gold-painted wheels and yellow graphics which dominate the star cluster across the doors with a sweep extending to the B-pillars and roof.

Inspired by 90s and 2000s, the design is a grander take on the ‘Comet’ motif popularised by the winning Imprezas of Richard Burns and Petter Solberg. Meanwhile, its performance division emblem (STR) appears in red on the front intakes, rear-end plates, and vent panel.

Also, the brand has revised its domestic racing structure. Its United States roster currently combines stage rally, rallycross, record attempts, off-road racing, and circuit racing – under the Subaru Motorsports banner. The name captures the expansion into broader disciplines.

“These colours are part of our history while beloved by our enthusiasts. For a generation of fans, our brand is synonymous with blue cars, gold wheels, and the iconic star cluster. The new design honours that heritage,” said Alan Bethke, VP of Marketing, Subaru of America.
