The Actress Donated Her Entire Salary from Mon Guerlain Campaign to Charity

Angelina Jolie has agreed to be the new face of the French beauty brand Guerlain’s new fragrance, Mon Guerlain. This is her first public role since her split with Brad Pitt in September last year.

Guerlain has been around since 1828, and according to Angelina was the favourite powder brand of Marcheline Bertrand’s – the actress’ late mother.

“We create perfumes for the women we admire,” said Jacques Guerlain. Awarded the Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, he has created prolific fragrances such as Shalimar, L’Heure Bleue and Mitsouko.

Thierry Wasser, Guerlain’s Master Perfumer, said he drew his inspiration from Angelina Jolie to create a fragrance expressing the idea of the “notes of a woman”. He believes that the choices a woman makes, as well as her emotions and dreams embody modern femininity.

The partnership between Angelina and Guerlain was agreed in Cambodia in December 2015, where she was directing her film First They Killed My Father. The fragrance is set to launch in March.

Apart from being an actress and a filmmaker, Angelina is a Special Envoy of the UN Refugee Agency and Co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative. She has donated her entire earnings from the Mon Guerlain campaign to charity.
