Frasers Group has revealed the addition of new directors to its board.

In an official statement, Frasers Group announced that Helen Wright, Sergio Rossi’s global CEO, will take on the non-executive director role. Additionally, David Al-Mudallal, Fraser’s chief operating officer, and Ger Wright, managing director of Sports, will assume positions as executive directors on the board. These appointments came into effect on February 26, 2024.

The Group has also revealed its plans to appoint Sir Jon Thompson, the former CEO of the Financial Reporting Council, as a non-executive director. The formal appointment is anticipated to take place later in the year.

David Daly, chair of the Frasers Group board, expressed optimism about the recent board appointments, stating, “I am confident that their leadership and expertise will greatly benefit us. Additionally, I am pleased that their appointments contribute to the diversification of our board, ensuring that we possess the necessary range of skills and perspectives to drive forward the success of the Elevation Strategy.”

The company highlighted Helen Wright’s extensive background, over 25 years as a senior executive in international luxury and lifestyle consumer brands. Notably, she is recognised for spearheading the turnaround and revitalisation of the esteemed British heritage brand Belstaff during her tenure as CEO.

Helen Wright has held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Sales and Merchandising for Europe at Ralph Lauren, President of EMEI for Fendi/LVMH, and CEO at Anya Hindmarch.

Her most recent role before joining Frasers Group was as Group CEO at Sergio Rossi, the renowned Italian luxury footwear house based in Milan, Italy, a position she assumed in November 2023.

Ger Wright has served as the Managing Director of Sports at Frasers Group since 2022, bringing her two decades of executive experience across commercial, product, and merchandising functions. Before her role at Frasers Group, Ger Wright worked extensively in the industry, notably with the Levi’s denim brand.

Her most recent tenure spanned 15 years at Nike, where she played a pivotal role in expanding markets, businesses, and teams across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

David Al-Mudallal was named Frasers Group’s chief operating officer in August 2021. Since joining the Group in 2017, Al-Mudallal has held many prominent positions, including chief of staff and head of operations.

Sir Jon Thompson, the former Chief Executive of the Financial Reporting Council, boasts an illustrious career with notable roles, including Chair of HS2, CEO of HMRC, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence. Throughout his tenure, he spearheaded major projects and implemented significant change programs.

Additionally, Sir Jon has a distinguished background in finance, having served as Director General of Finance at the Ministry of Defence, Director General of Corporate Services at the Department for Education, and Finance Director of Ofsted. Before entering the Civil Service in 2004, he held various corporate services and finance positions in the public and private sectors.
