Hard apple cider giant, Strongbow, has rolled out its latest television commercial campaign starring Sir Patrick Stewart. The humorous slew of commercials showcases the brand’s award-winning flavours by poking fun at the television legend’s impressive acting range.

The series of advertisements follows the marque’s successful All You Need Is Ice marketing push from 2015, which highlighted how the beverage over ice renders it the best in its category, to a point that even a celebrity of Stewart’s calibre is not required to get consumers to try it.

Its 2016 Impressive Range campaign features multiple spots, the first of which debuts digitally today via YouTube. The executions air across television from 7 March 2016. The launch will be backed by traditional and paid media, digital, public relations, and experiential marketing.

“Working again with Sir Patrick Stewart for our new Strongbow campaign is very exciting! This has been a fantastic creative collaboration as we tell the story of our impressive range of flavours through his impressive acting range,” said Alejandra de Obeso, Brand Director Strongbow at Heineken USA.

Currently the fastest growing hard cider in America, Strongbow has been recognised as the best-tasting brand for two consecutive years at the World Cider Championships; its four variants have won individual awards. In 2015, it tripled its market share, outperforming competitors eight times over.

The global cider maker’s stable includes four key offerings namely Strongbow Gold Apple, Strongbow Honey, Strongbow Ginger, and Strongbow Red Berries. The marque is set to reveal a fresh flavour in March, which could possibly be its most unique flavour innovation to date.
