Porter Novelli has named Jess Schmidt to the role of Senior Vice President for its consumer brand marketing practice. Based at the Los Angeles office since February, she plays a key role in the agency’s top consumer business account as well as manages, grows, and develops talent.

She brings to the company more than a decade of experience in developing strategic communications campaigns which raise awareness, increase sales, generate thought leadership, and build brands. She reports to Jimmy Szczepanek, the network’s Executive Vice President.

Prior to joining the firm, she was a vice president in the consumer marketing practice at Finn Partners, where she managed several food and beverage accounts such as Dole Packaged Foods and Auntie Anne’s. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire.
