Puma is doing Autumn-Winter with an adult and kids’ range featuring design aesthetics from the Minions of the Despicable Me franchise.

Puma has inked a multi-season deal with Illumination and Universal Brand Development which features the Minions from Despicable Me. The characters join a roster of creative collaborators responsible for lending their unique design aesthetic to the Sportstyle collection.

Timed to the Despicable Me 3 premiere and sports brand’s Autumn-Winter 2017 roll-out, the animated trio will bring their subversive sweetness to the product range. Since their breakout role, the Minions have become icons who inspire artists, designers, and global tastemakers.

For the footwear and apparel tie-up, the three deliver fashionably luxe designs across the sports-themed styles with a fresh pattern and splashes of colour. Meanwhile, classic silhouettes were reimagined using Minions-painted graphic insoles finished with a debossed collaboration logo.

“We are very excited to be partnering with the Minions. Apart from their zest for life and playful nature, they inspire us in many ways and are extremely hardworking and creative. We welcome the Minions to the family,” said Heiko Desens, Creative Director for Sportstyle at Puma.

The PUMA x Minions range for adults launch online as well as at PUMA shops and select lifestyle retailers such as Colette and Opening Ceremony on 1 June 2017. The kids’ line also hits stores and goes online. Despicable Me 3 will visit theatres at the end of the same month.
