The Apple Sports app provides instant scores, statistics, and additional features, all crafted for quickness and user-friendly simplicity.

Named Apple Sports, Apple has introduced its specialised sports application, providing real-time score updates and statistics for various sports through a complimentary download on iPhone.

This app allows users to personalise their experience by selecting their favourite teams and leagues. This feature enables them to track multiple games across different sports simultaneously. Additionally, users have the option to display live betting odds if desired.

Upon release, the app will feature several prominent European football leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, and the Bundesliga, as well as Major League Soccer in the US and Liga MX in Mexico. Additionally, it will cover ongoing major US sports leagues such as the NBA, NHL, and both men’s and women’s college basketball.

Apple announced that additional leagues will be added to the app as their new seasons commence later in the year. This expansion will include Major League Baseball, the NFL, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), and the WNBA.

The technology company expressed its belief that there is currently only one platform where users can conveniently and efficiently stay updated with scores across multiple teams and sports simultaneously.

The app will also feature a link to watch live games if they are available on Apple TV or another connected streaming service that the user is signed in to on their iPhone.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, said in a statement, “We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want — an app that delivers incredibly fast access to scores and stats.

“Apple Sports is available for free in the App Store, and makes it easy for users to stay up to date with their favourite teams and leagues”, he added.

The new app will first be available in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.

Apple stated that Sports will also sync user-selected favourites with the My Sports era of the Apple TV and Apple News apps.
