Influencers on Instagram will now start appearing in your feed whether you follow them or not.

In a new feature on the popular social media platform, brands will be able to appear in the feed and stories of a wider audience. Announced the March, the feature launched to 50% of businesses on Instagram yesterday and will roll out to 100% of business on 17 June.

Up until now brands have only been able to reach the influencers followers. With this new feature, influencer posts will appear in feeds as adverts, even to those who don’t follow them.

Named the ‘branded content ads’, the posts will appear with the words ‘paid partnership’ below with the brand name.
