The push showcase pieces from the brand’s Holiday collection with a commercial slated to debut worldwide on 23 November 2015
H&M has released the first set of images from its Christmas push featuring singing sensation and campaign brand ambassador, Katy Perry, who is seen in the stills showcasing pieces from the fashion giant’s Holiday collection. Meanwhile, a commercial is slated to debut worldwide on 23 November 2015 via H&M Life.
In the commercial and accompanying print campaign, the star dons festive looks from the line which mixes glamour, style, and fun. Included are pieces such as a lipstick-red dress, tuxedos with flyaway sleeves, and a T-shirt embroidered with sequined red bows.
“I love the mix of style and updated traditions in this year’s Holiday collection. These are pieces for pure pleasure, whether it’s the perfect party dress for the best night out, or a cosy and fun sweater for relaxing with friends and family,” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, Head of Design at H&M.
The collection will be available in H&M stores and online beginning mid-November. Also, the brand has committed to supporting destitute children in Myanmar with specially-designed gift cards. For each purchased, the H&M Conscious Foundation is set to donate 5 percent of the unit price to UNICEF.
The non-profit organisation will then use the money to provide a quality education for the underprivileged, where there is an urgent need to improve access to basic schooling. Through the initiative, both parties aim to directly reach more than 350,000 children with primary and lower secondary school education in the Rakhine State.
The gift cards will be available in H&M stores globally through 31 December 2015. Perry first appears as a fairy before conjuring to life a cast of characters, from life-sized gingerbread men to oversized presents on roller skates and giant teddy bears. The soundtrack Every Day Is A Holiday, was written by the artiste for the overall campaign.
