Adding to its Spotlight Series arsenal, Google has rolled out an original short film in partnership with award-winning animation studio, Aardman. Titled Special Delivery, the mobile-friendly execution, while festive themed, is viewable via the YouTube app.

The latest to join the collection within the brand’s Advanced Technology and Projects group, the Pink Panther style holiday caper features interactive 360-degree storytelling. The sensors on one’s phone maximises the viewing experience by unlocking the story’s many mini plots with movement.

Accessible on android devices while available to iOS users and across Google Cardboard, the four-minute video follows Santa Claus on a high-speed chase initiated by a concerned caretaker. From door to door, the mischievous pursuit leaves behind a fun trail of Christmas gifts.

Meanwhile, a non-interactive version has also been activated for streaming on YouTube for the first time. Viewers are encouraged to watch the installation several times to capture the multiple surprises in store. With 10 subplots, three potential endings, and 60 over unique moment, the audience controls the story.
