Luxury beauty juggernaut, Elizabeth Arden, has signed an agreement to acquire the global license and certain related assets for the Christina Aguilera fragrance business from Procter & Gamble. The internationally-acclaimed music and fashion icon introduced her first fragrance nine years ago in 2007.

Today, Christina Aguilera’s scent-inspired portfolio commands a global reach and boasts seven brands. Positioned as the top celebrity fragrance marque in Europe, it is also the most awarded in its category across the same region. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The transaction is expected to close in the first fiscal quarter of 2017 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals. According to the brand, the aforementioned move supports its global expansion in Europe and presents an exciting new frontier for Elizabeth Arden.

“This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to acquire brands to grow our fragrance business on a global basis, and we look forward to working with Christina to advance the success of this longstanding fragrance brand,” said George Cleary, President Global Fragrances at Elizabeth Arden.
