Choice Hotels has expanded its Caribbean footprint by launching a new location called the Opus Hotel in Guyana’s Georgetown

The Ascend Hotel Collection, a brand under the global hospitality group Choice Hotels International, has expanded its growth in the Caribbean by launching a new location called the Opus Hotel in Guyana’s Georgetown. Situated on the coast of South America, the establishment adds to the marque’s growing list of upscale destinations.

The debut marks the network’s twelfth property across its Caribbean portfolio. Positioned in the prime locality of Stabroek in the central region of the aforementioned industrial city, the hotel provides easy access to a selection of local art and craft museums, restaurants, nightlife, and cultural heritage sites.

Among the primary landmarks touted as key tourist hotspots in the area are the Monument of Queen Victoria, St. George’s Cathedral, Georgetown Seawall, Promenade Gardens, Marine Turtle Monument, Walter Roth Museum, and Brickdam Cathedral. The University of Guyana is also within close proximity of the new hotel.

The Opus Hotel features 23 standard guest rooms and two executive rooms, all of which are equipped with hardwood floors and jetted tubs. The location also boasts amenities such as an in-house eatery and bar, meeting room facilities as well as complimentary parking and Wi-Fi services.

A unique selling point is its free hot breakfast which includes an authentic homegrown spread of choice delicacies like salt fish, metagee, pepperpot, and cook-up rice. The group’s Caribbean portfolio also features islandic getaways in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Aruba, Curacao, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and St. Maarten.

“With its tropical climate and quaint Dutch and Victorian influenced architecture, the capital city of Georgetown is an exceptional destination with much to offer visitors and eco tourists,” said Neil Cantor, Head of Ascend Hotel Collection for Choice Hotels International.
