Joe Freshgoods has collaborated again with New Balance UK to unveil a new collection centered on the iconic New Balance 990v4 sneakers. The forthcoming New Balance 990v4 “1998” line draws creative inspiration from the renowned 1998 film ‘Belly,’ directed by Hype Williams.
It is famous for its opening scene at New York’s Tunnel nightclub, which exudes a captivating blue hue. The film starred notable figures like Nas, DMX, and Method Man.
The collection comprises three distinct colorways: “Intro,” “Outro,” and “Keisha Blue,” all paying homage to the cult-classic movie. The standout design of the New Balance 990v4 “Outro” features a sleek black-and-white execution. Moreover, it is mainly crafted with smooth suede, a mesh base, and glossy leather overlays. Also, it is a spotlight with the marking “1998” on the heel.
Although the release date for the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v4 “Outro” has not been officially disclosed. Quite obviously, enthusiasts can foresee their arrival in the coming months.
These exclusive pairs are expected to drop at JoeFreshgoods.com, the designer’s Every Now & Then boutique, and select retailers. Additionally, there is a possibility of the release occurring on NewBalance.com.
What are the New Balance 990v4 fresh offerings and launch phases?
A departure from Joe Freshgoods’ signature vivid color palettes, this latest lineup adopts a more subdued aesthetic. Both the “Intro” and “Outro” models embrace varying combinations of blacks, whites, and greys. On the other hand, the “Keisha Blue” edition adheres to its namesake to boast a monochromatic blue finish.
Simultaneously, the New Balance outlet gears up for the highly anticipated launch of Made in USA Season 3. Stunningly, Teddy Santis, the current Creative Director of New Balance’s Made in USA line, curated these robust items.
This upcoming release will feature various colorful offerings, starting with the limited-edition 990v6 Quickstrike. Surprisingly, it showcases premium suede and mesh construction in “Limestone” and “Magenta” hues.
The launch will progress in three phases, offering a variety of footwear silhouettes. It includes the New Balance 990, 998, and 996 in an array of vibrant tones. Further, it is complemented by an assortment of apparel. The first phase debuts on June 16 via NewBalance.com and select retailers. Amazingly, it offers items ranging from $65 to $220.
