Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton teams up with Dior as their new men’s fashion ambassador. Together, they’ve designed a unique lifestyle capsule collection launching in October.
For his Dior collaboration, Lewis Hamilton teams up with designer Kim Jones to craft a capsule collection focused on winter sports. The collection reflects Hamilton’s personal side beyond racing while emphasising sustainability and African influences.
Lewis and I share a love of nature and a deep appreciation for Africa’s artistic legacy,” Jones explained in a statement. This collaboration combines the craftsmanship of African artisans with the expertise of Dior’s ateliers, making it an extraordinary project.
On top of that, Lewis’s dedication to his sport and its technical aspects are woven into the collection,” Jones continued. “The entire process felt natural and truly rewarding.
This capsule collection is a mashup of styles. It blends streetwear and outdoor gear with relaxed Dior suits in classic tweeds and fresh African fabrics. You’ll also find comfy denim, knits, sweatshirts, and fleeces made with eco-friendly materials. For the technical side of things, the collection features high-performance skiwear by Descente (a longtime Dior partner) and woven pieces crafted by skilled artisans in Burkina Faso.
The range also features Dior-branded snowboards, wraparound eyewear, and specially developed multi-layered, micro-fiber snow sneakers. These sneakers are designed to be “simultaneously casual and day-to-day while technically able to be worn and performed with a board on the slopes.”
For this collection, making eco-conscious choices and pushing the design of every piece was key. It was incredibly inspiring to incorporate my African heritage, using traditional fabrics and natural materials and drawing on the continent’s vibrant colours and strong energy.”
