Louis Vuitton commemorates the 20th anniversary of its game-changing partnership with Takashi Murakami, with a relaunch campaign featuring Zendaya, a testament to the enduring power of this iconic collaboration.

Zendaya stars in the campaign for Louis Vuitton’s revival of its groundbreaking partnership with Takashi Murakami, featuring an extensive re-edition of the original collection. The new offer truly lives up to the term “extensive,” encompassing over 200 pieces across categories like bags, footwear, fragrances, and sunglasses.

This re-edition exemplifies Louis Vuitton’s dedication to creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship, seamlessly blending these values with Takashi Murakami’s vibrant and imaginative artistic world.

Meanwhile, Zendaya is featured in a series of “exuberant and audacious images created by renowned Dutch photographers, Inez and Vinoodh. The perfect embodiment of the collaboration’s modern energy and creative spirit, Zendaya wears pieces from the collection, while playfully interacting with Takashi Murakami’s fun and fantastical artworks created exclusively for the Louis Vuitton × Murakami re-edition – all framed within a series of epic and evocative cityscapes”.

In a vibrant and imaginative display, Murakami’s Superflat Garden floral motifs and his whimsical Superflat and Superflat Panda characters infuse the campaign with a sense of playful energy. These iconic elements jubilantly spring up in spectacular locations, joining Zendaya on a visual adventure that takes her from soaring city skylines to thrilling amusement park rides, historic bridges, and serene urban parks. The playful spirit extends beyond the frame itself, as Superflat Garden flowers playfully spill out, and mischievous Superflat and Superflat Panda characters audaciously displace the opening letters of the renowned Louis Vuitton logo, marking a groundbreaking moment in the House’s history.

Two short films accompany the collection launch. The first, a captivating teaser, follows a vintage flip phone as it travels from Takashi Murakami’s hometown in Tokyo to New York. When Zendaya opens the phone, the re-edition characters joyfully burst forth from the screen.

The second short film is a vibrant and playful video showcasing Zendaya dancing and interacting with Superflat Garden flowers, Superflat, and Superflat Panda characters in the same captivating locations featured in the print campaign.

Zendaya embodies the playful spirit of the collection, showcasing a range of designs that perfectly complement her unique style. She effortlessly carries re-edited versions of iconic Louis Vuitton bags, such as the All In BB, Speedy 25, OnTheGo, Keepall, and Capucines Mini. Completing her looks are playful “kittenish” Monogram Mules, elegant Bandeau silk scarves, and vibrant Louis Vuitton leather belts that add a touch of unexpected color and personality.

The first phase of the Louis Vuitton x Murakami re-edition collection will be available worldwide from January 1st.
