A few athletes will feature in a national Budweiser television spot slated to premiere in June and air during the Rio 2016 Olympics broadcast.

Anheuser-Busch owned lager giant, Budweiser, the official beer sponsor of Team USA, has recruited six athletes to join its team in conjunction with Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Each member’s story, personality, and commitment to not taking shortcuts reflect the brand’s values.

The line-up includes rugby player, Perry Baker; outdoor hammer throw champ, Amanda Bingson; 2012 Paralympic Men’s 100-Metre silver medallist, Richard Browne; 2012 Olympic Decathlon silver medallist, Trey Hardee, 2015 FIFA Women’s winner, Becky Sauerbrunn; and 2008 Paralympic swimming contender, Melissa Stockwell.

Leading up to games, the beer-maker has engaged artist, Malika Favre, to design a 225-foot mural featuring the athletes in mid-town Manhattan, with work set to begin in late May. Team Budweiser has also inspired limited-edition packaging scheduled for release in June.

Meanwhile, a few athletes will appear in a new national television spot slated to premiere mid-year and air during the Rio 2016 Olympics broadcast. Budweiser is also creating a branded and editorial content series for June to share the inspiring stories of the aforementioned sports stars.

The brand has also signed on WNBA legend and two-time Olympic gold medallist in Women’s Basketball, Candace Parker, as an ambassador for its Team USA sponsorship. Its partnership with the United States Olympic Committee spans nearly three decades and includes 16 Olympic and Olympic Winter Games.

“We handpicked these athletes because of their courage and belief that they can achieve something incredible for their country. These are also our values and we’re extremely proud to partner with them this summer as they work toward their ultimate goal,” said Ricardo Marques, Vice President of Budweiser.
