Hyundai is letting fans challenge their friends on the outcome of their favourite games, with the stakes being their Facebook profile picture.
Hyundai has launched a digital promotion in partnership with the National Football League. Titled Put Your Profile on the Line, the social push affords fans the opportunity to challenge friends on the outcome of their favourite games, with the stakes being their Facebook profile picture.
Players can select their team, identify Facebook friends to challenge, and once accepted, friends put their Facebook profile picture ‘on the line’. Based on a game’s outcome, both contenders will receive a link to the loser’s picture, with an overlay featuring the logo of the winning team.
Meanwhile, each time they compete, both will be entered in a sweepstakes for the chance to win tickets to the Super Bowl. Online, fans can keep tabs on challenges, see how many entries they’ve earned, and view past outcomes. The grand prize will be awarded after the regular season ends.
“Friendly competition between rivals is an important part of NFL culture. The platform allows fans to showcase their passion as well as affords them a chance to win tickets to the Super Bowl,” Paul Imhoff, Director, Marketing Communications at Hyundai Motor America.
Hyundai is a World Branding Awards winner under the Automotive (National) category, walking away with the coveted title during the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 installations respectively.
