Sony has unveiled a special edition PS5 controller inspired by ‘The Last of Us,’ with pre-orders opening on 14 March.
Sony has offered a first glimpse of its new limited edition PS5 controller, designed with a theme inspired by The Last of Us.
The Last of Us, created by PlayStation-owned studio Naughty Dog, is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure gaming franchise that has also been successfully adapted into a popular HBO TV series.
Fans of The Last of Us can mark their calendars, the TV show’s second season debuts on 13 April, while the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered arrives on 3 April.

“We were thrilled by the opportunity to commemorate The Last of Us franchise with a controller that both fans and our team would cherish,” shared Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog’s head of studio and creative, along with graphic designer Megan Mehran, in a joint statement. “Our goal was to represent both instalments of The Last of Us through the black gloss trophy icons adorning the controller body.”
“Among the trophies, three specific images are sure to catch the eye of The Last of Us fans: the firefly, the moth, and the wolf.”
“Players will instantly recognise the iconic spray-painted Fireflies logo from Part I, while the moth and wolf symbolize the interconnected lives and contrasting duality of Ellie and Abby in Part II.”
The controller is priced at £74.99 ($84.99, €84.99), with pre-orders opening in the UK at 10 am on 14 March (7 am PT in the US) on Playstation.com and through select third-party retailers. The controllers are scheduled for a full launch on 10 April, though the exact release date and availability may differ depending on the country or region.
