The brand is official footwear partner for the 35th installation of the America’s Cup and official footwear supplier for Oracle Team USA

Sperry, the creator of the first boat shoe, has forged a new partnership with America’s Cup, a globally prestigious and technologically-demanding sailing competition. Effective immediately, the former is set to serve as official footwear partner and supplier for the 35th installation of the America’s Cup and Oracle Team USA respectively.

“It is partnerships like this that make the race better and we’re very happy to have them on board as we embark on future odysseys,” Antonio Bertone, Chief Marketing Officer of America’s Cup. The tie-up will see Sperry release a limited edition America’s Cup Collection including specialty shoes, apparel, and accessories.

The collaboration supports the competitive advantage sought after by the athletes tied in the movement in terms of agility and high-performance mobility. As such, Sperry will work with the team to improve performance by developing a special shoe for use during training and racing.

“Partnering with the America’s Cup is our boldest adventure yet. Sperry is built for the sea, and in our 80 years, we’ve continually provided tools for nautical adventure and created advanced performance technology for the world’s best watermen,” said Rick Blackshaw, President of Sperry.
