The toy company now holds global rights to develop pre-school playsets, vehicles, figures, plush, and electronic learning aids
Silvergate Media, the international television production and licensing company focused on pre-school children’s entertainment based in New York and London, has signed a three-year master toy renewal deal with Fisher-Price for Octonauts, its undersea preschool adventure property.
Presently in its fourth season, British-made kids’ series is aired across more than 100 countries worldwide to include America’s Disney Channel, Australia’s ABC, France’s TF1, and Germany’s Super RTL. The programme is also broadcast via the China Central TV network.
“Octonauts is now truly a global property and continues to go from strength to strength as a unique and exciting pre-school brand. As the show gains popularity in new markets, we look forward to millions more children enjoying Octonauts toys at home,” said Waheed Alli, CEO of Silvergate Media.
Fisher-Price has served as Silvergate’s toy partner for Octonauts since 2011, with the brand established as a leading preschool toy property in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and Korea. A successful product launch is currently underway in China, with Russia set to follow in the fall.
The group plans to launch more than 20 new toys in 2016, based around a ‘Year of Slime’ play pattern. Under the new master toy license, the company holds global rights to develop pre-school playsets, vehicles, figures, plush as well as electronic learning aids.
“We’ve really enjoyed bringing the underwater world of Octonauts to life. Silvergate’s dedication to support Octonauts with continuous new content paired with an aggressive pursuit of content distribution makes them a terrific partner,” said Susie Lecker, EVP Chief Brand Officer, Toybox Division at Mattel.
