Shiseido Americas has taken over creative agency, JWALK, to deepen its digital and creative strength across all consumer touchpoints.

Shiseido Americas has acquired JWALK, an agency with the creative and digital design capabilities to support the company’s brands. Founded by Doug Jacob, Michael Lastoria, and Charlie Walk, the team partners with beauty, fashion, hospitality, and other brands to drive digital communication.

Consistent with the cosmetic giant’s goal of brand acceleration through effective digital strategies and consumer-oriented marketing, the takeover elevates its creative strength. From strategy to concept to delivery, JWALK will work closely with Shiseido and play a role in its entire creative process.

The creative shop has collaborated with the Japanese corporation for the past four years, focusing mainly on its bareMinerals and Buxom portfolios. The firm will offer innovative ideation, digital direction as well as support to solidify each brand’s creative consistency across consumer touchpoints.

Jacob is to serve as Chief Creative Director of Shiseido Americas and Founder of JWALK. He will report to Jill Scalamandre, who is the President of the company’s Global Makeup Center of Excellence. The agency will work with new and existing non-competitive clients to further develop the group’s edge and talent pool.

“By infusing JWALK into our entire creative process, our brand will not only be able to achieve organic, 360-degree results, but will also have greater speed and agility in both the assets we create and the way we work,” said Marc Rey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shiseido Americas.
