Ruder Finn has named Ogilvy Public Relations’ David Brooks to the role of Senior Vice President of Digital and Social Health in New York.

Ruder Finn has named David Brooks to its U.S. Healthcare Practice as Senior Vice President of Digital and Social Health. He brings to the role 20 years of experience in managing digital and social programmes for pharmaceutical, technology and consumer goods companies worldwide.

He will be based out of the group’s headquarters in New York and report to Sally Ann Barton, who is the Head of said practice. He joins the firm from Ogilvy Public Relations, where he was SVP, Digital & Social Strategy, and supported B2B, consumer, and government-facing clients.

Work on past accounts led include Pfizer, Ambry Genetics, SAP, Biotheranostics, IBM, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. He was also once the Director of Digital Strategy at Burson-Marsteller, where he ran social channel development and strategy, desktop and mobile sites, email marketing, and more.

At Ruder Finn, Brooks will be head digital, social, and content strategies in healthcare, and apply his corporate communications and tech experience to solutions for clients. He will build on existing medical technology offerings and expand capabilities in biotechnology and the life sciences.
