Ogilvy & Mather has secured the top global ranking for 2016 by grabbing more Effie awards than any other agency in the past 12 months—320 Effies.

Effie Worldwide has named Ogilvy & Mather the most effective agency network in the world. The group reclaims the winning position it has held for three out of six years since the Effie Index was established. The brand was previously awarded the title in 2012 and 2013.

The agency secured the top global ranking for 2016 by securing more Effie awards than any other agency in the past 12 months—320 Effies to be precise. Several Ogilvy & Mather regions and individual offices also enjoyed success in across the rankings this year.

Said agency rankings include top place in Asia Pacific and North America, second place in Latin America, and fifth place in both MENA (Middle East and North Africa) and Europe. The individual agency office rankings saw O&M Mumbai and New York finish second and fifth globally.

Meanwhile, the group’s Mumbai office stole top spot in Asia Pacific while New York achieved a matching result for North America. O&M Bogota also made the list, taking fifth spot under Latin America. Additionally, its client brands Coca-Cola, Unilever, and Nestlé were also recognised.

They were honoured for their achievements in the competition. Coca-Cola was named both the most effective marketer as well as most effective brand in the world. Unilever came in as the second most effective marketer and Nestlé the third most effective marketer in the world.

“Our founder, David Ogilvy, famously said we sell or else, and our purpose of making brands matter in the world is built upon a foundation of doing great work that produces business results for our clients. I am thrilled our clients have also been recognized for their achievements,” said John Seifert (pictured), Worldwide CEO of Ogilvy & Mather.

Launched in June 2011, the Effie Effectiveness Index identifies and ranks the most effective agencies, marketers and brands by analysing finalist and winner data from worldwide Effie competitions. Announced annually, it is the most comprehensive global ranking of marketing effectiveness.
