Expanding its footprint in Europe, the new property adds to the brand’s portfolio of more than 70 hotels across the United Kingdom and Ireland

In the line with the chain’s expansion trail, Hilton London Bankside, has officially opened its doors and is located a short distance from the Globe Theatre. The design-led property is the latest to join the Hilton brand portfolio of more than 70 hotels across the UK and Ireland.

Set in the heart of Bankside, the new location is home to 292 guest rooms, of which 25 are suites offering a view of the city’s skyline. The hotel also features a penthouse apartment with a private roof terrace and an entertainment area overlooking the London landscape.

Positioned alongside The Distillery, an upscale bar, the spot is equipped with a new eatery called the Oxbo Bankside. Sporting a look of brutalist architecture, raw industrial design, and urban living, the hotel was designed in partnership with Dexter Moran and Twenty2Degrees to reflect the history and ambiance of its surroundings.

References to the neighbouring Tate Modern are apparent in the lobby flooring, which evokes the renowned Turbine Hall and the collection of art displayed throughout. Sculptures by British artist, David Farrer, accentuate the interiors, while reclaimed ceilings and murals have been custom-designed for the hotel’s public spaces.

The establishment was created to host festive occasions and corporate events and has eight meeting rooms and a grand ballroom with the capacity to seat up to 700 guests at a time. Boasting decadent chandeliers, a six-metre high ceiling and the technology to match, the Bankside Ballroom was built for business and pleasure.

“With London attracting around 30 million global visitors every year, we are delighted to be expanding our footprint in the city and look forward to putting Hilton London Bankside on the map as a key destination for travellers and Londoners alike,” said Simon Vincent, EVP and President, Europe, Middle East and Africa of Hilton Worldwide.
