With the appointment made effective on 1 December, he will continue in politics while he collaborates with the Hill+Knowlton network.
Hill+Knowlton has named Scott Reed (pictured), a political strategist and former Executive Director of the Republic National Committee, a senior advisor. With the appointment made effective on 1 December 2016, he will continue in said political role while he works with the communications agency.
A veteran political organiser and campaign manager, he oversees the federal voter educational programme at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Said role includes designing and implementing communications campaigns with a focus the benefits and importance of a free enterprise system.
“Scott’s outstanding political instincts coupled with his keen eye for strategic communications naturally make him a key asset for the companies we serve at a time when the political landscape is rapidly changing,” said Jack Martin, Global Executive Chairman and CEO of Hill+Knowlton.
Reed’s extensive career in American politics includes serving as campaign manager of Bob Dole’s 1996 presidential campaign, while overseeing the planning of the Republican National Convention in San Diego and directing the selection of Jack Kemp as vice presidential nominee.
During his time as COO of the Republican National Committee, he worked with a Republican-controlled House and Senate to implement efforts which resulted in the election of 32 Republican governors. He previously also served as Chief of Staff to Jack Kemp during the Bush administration.
