The campaign by Hampton Inn by Hilton promotes health awareness by encouraging patrons to use the stairs instead of elevators and win.

SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts has launched a unique campaign targeting guests to its Hampton Inn by Hilton Halifax Downtown. Titled Take the Stairs and promoting health awareness, the initiative encourages patrons to use the hotel’s stairs instead of its elevators.

To up the ante on participation, the hospitality brand is affording travellers the opportunity to win a Garmin Vivofit activity tracker through a weekly draw. Eight such prizes are slated to be given away across two-month campaign period which ends on 31 August 2016.

Guests can enroll through a ballot, by correctly identifying where a special star sticker is placed within the stairwell, with it moving daily. The push aims to drive awareness surrounding the importance of regular exercise and inspire visitors to make exercise a part of their daily routine.

“We are committed to our guests’ all-round wellness and enjoyment of our hotels. This campaign is a fun way to encourage regular exercise while giving guests an opportunity to win a fantastic prize,” said Steve Giblin, President and CEO of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts.

Hilton was a winner at the 2014-2015 World Branding Awards under the Hotels (Global) category.
