Every Mind Matters launched a new campaign with support from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The government backed NHS campaign aims to highlight the commonality of mental health issues across the country and to remind people that they are not alone.

Encouraging people to look after their mental health is a key component of the campaign. As well as the royal faces backing the campaign, other celebrities are also included such as Gillian Anderson, Nadiya Hussain, Freddie Flintoff and Professor Green.

The advert aired last night across ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky channels and promoted the Every Mind Matters campaign and website with a free quiz to help users understand what they can do to improve and help their mental health.

The Every Mind Matters website features tips for dealing with stress and depression and points to apps that can help people manage their wellbeing.

Health secretary Matt Hancock said: “It draws together the importance of treating our mental health on an equal basis to our physical health, and treating it both as an asset that each individual needs to invest in, supported by the NHS and by the government, as opposed to just something that just needs to be fixed when it goes wrong.”
