Victoria Distillers of British Columbia unveils mystery in the bottle with the release of its colour-changing indigo blue spirit, Empress 1908 Gin.
Ahead of its United States release on 1 July, Victoria Distillers of British Columbia has unveiled the latest addition to its craft portfolio, Empress 1908 Gin. Inspired by the tea and cocktail programmes of the Fairmont Empress Hotel of Victoria, the variant is a hand-crafted indigo blue spirit.
During the distillation process, it is infused with the butterfly pea blossom, creating the distinctive hue. With the addition of citrus or tonic, the pour transforms from its all-natural tint to monarch purple and rose petal pink. An original, the new entry is shaping its story as a brave provocateur.
Developed in small batch copper-pot stills for a refined, nuanced, and enduring finish, Empress 1908 Gin aspires to deliver phenomenal depth and boldness of spirit. True to its ideals, the Canadian distiller bases its uniquely vibrant concoctions on its brand credo, which is to “Live Colorfully.”
“We are thrilled to be launching Empress 1908 Gin in the United States and will soon announce our distribution partnership details. The spirit debuts this summer in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Florida, and California, with other states to follow,” said Peter Hunt, President of Victoria Distillers.
