Elmer’s CheeWees, an iconic NOLA snack originating from New Orleans since 1946, has recently teamed up with Juvenile. The renowned hip-hop artist from Cash Money Records will launch a limited-edition version of spicy cheese curl snacks called “400 Hot Degreez.” The name pays homage to Juvenile’s four-time platinum record, “400 Degreez.”

Surprisingly, local NOLA artist Nik Richard designed the new snack’s packaging to showcase an illustration of a juvenile. Besides, it is set against a backdrop reflecting the essence of New Orleans. The bag prominently features Elmer’s mouse mascot spitting literal fire. Hence, it ensures the spicy nature of the CheeWees is apparent at first glance.

This collaboration follows the success of “Juvie Juice,” created by Urban South Brewery. Juvenile is inspired by this spiked lemonade-iced tea beverage. Additionally, earlier this year, Juvenile’s NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert went viral, setting his enduring cultural impact beyond the realm of music.

“Being in that ’95 to 2000 era, being a part of that, I think kind of like grew this new generation of artists we have here,” Juvenile commented. “And I think that by making songs I like, they bring my music back up. You know a lot of cats are sampling my songs, sampling Mannie Fresh beats, and they are reliving our days again.”

With over two decades in the music industry, Juvenile affirmed his dedication to continue making an impact, indicating no plans of slowing down.

When Can Fans Expect the NOLA Snack Spicy Surprise?

Representatives from Elmer have hinted that fans can foresee the arrival of the new NOLA snack “400 Degree” flavor on store shelves, likely later this year. This partnership celebrates the fusion of two beloved aspects of New Orleans culture. Furthermore, it highlights Juvenile’s enduring influence on music and his role in shaping upcoming generations of artists in the industry.
