The Ecobuild Big Innovation Pitch has returned for a third consecutive year, with the latest installation featuring a Marks & Spencer tie-up.

Ecobuild has teamed up with Marks & Spencer for its Big Innovation Pitch to uncover the latest retail engineering solutions and innovations. The initiative is open to any company in the UK operating within the construction, building performance, and engineering sectors.

Now in its third year, the Big Innovation Pitch embraces innovative building products and engineering solutions. Said platform supports M&S’s sustainability strategy to source responsibly, reduce waste, and help communities, with the goal of becoming the most sustainable major retailer.

The winning company will have an opportunity to become an M&S supplier and receive significant visibility across Ecobuild’s audiences. The competition will see entrants receive feedback from the British retailer on their product and the way in which they present it to accelerate their growth.

“For the 2017 event, we’re focusing on redefining what sustainability means. The Big Innovation Pitch is a great platform for companies to share their sustainability solutions and get the chance to work with a prestigious organisation like M&S,” Martin Hurn, Brand Director at Ecobuild.

The criteria for participants span innovative engineering solutions that include battery storage to support demand side response potential; passive refrigeration and fluid modelling (refrigeration or HVAC design); and wireless lighting technologies and energy management (big data analysis).

The deadline for entries is 13 January. Companies wishing to enter can discover more online. The final pitch will be live on stage at Ecobuild on 7 March 2017.
