Duracell collaborated with Postmates over the Christmas season to create an on-demand delivery service targeting three American cities.
Duracell recently partnered with Postmates to create an on-demand battery delivery service in conjunction with the festive period. Celebrating a season of giving, the platform allowed for families across Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis to put in requests for doorstep deliveries.
“We know that loving yet, time-strapped parents try their hardest to create the perfect Christmas experience for their children every year, but more than one-third of consumers nationwide forget to buy batteries for Christmas gifts,” said Ramon Velutini, Vice President of Marketing at Duracell.
Just in time for Christmas, former Chicago Cub and World Series Champion, David Ross, came on board to support a tie-up with Chicago’s Toys for Tots. Gifts were presented to disadvantaged children in the area. The battery giant is a long-standing partner of the non-profit organisation.
In addition to the new service dubbed Duracell Express, the company donates a million batteries to the organisation each year for those that need it most. A video from Wieden+Kennedy New York supporting the effort can be viewed here to see how the battery-maker saved Christmas.
