The partnership between DeWalt and Joe Gibbs Racing will see the sponsorship of driver, Matt Kenseth, broadened to include more races.

DeWalt has expanded its partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing by adding four races to its 2016 sponsorship of Toyota Camry driver, Matt Kenseth (pictured), for the upcoming races in Chicago, Dover, Kansas, and Homestead. Also, the brand is backing six races from this year’s Nascar Xfinity Series.

The second layer will be in collaboration with race drivers, Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez. Beginning with the 2017 season, the automotive tools specialist will take over the primary sponsorship for the majority of races on the No. 20 Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Along with the expanded schedule of primary paint schemes, DeWalt also has associate branding on the car in the same series whenever the marque is not already serving as main sponsor. The alliance is timely seeing as the brand recently rolled out its highly anticipated FlexVolt system.

The platform features radical battery technology designed to transform the power tools space and provide users with multiple voltage outputs from a single battery pack. The innovation is equipped with capabilities that offer consumers the power of corded with the freedom of cordless.

So far in 2016, Kenseth has accrued one win, two top-five and six top-ten finishes, and has led for a total of 429 laps. The two-time Daytona 500 and 2003 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion has enjoyed more than 13 years being partnered with DeWalt throughout his career.

“We’re thrilled to continue to work with Joe Gibbs Racing as NASCAR and our brand share a lot of commonalities. The FlexVolt launch ties perfectly to the power and freedom exemplified by racing,” said Scott Bannell, Vice President for Corporate Brand Marketing at Stanley Black & Decker.
