The Ames Boston Hotel has undergone a multi-million-dollar makeover, and joins the Curio – A Collection by Hilton portfolio from an iconic city.
The Ames Boston Hotel has newly joined the Curio – A Collection by Hilton portfolio to offer independent-minded travellers an upscale alternative from a global set of more than 20 open properties. Said addition is the first Boston hospitality establishment to operate as part of the hand-picked cluster.
The location opens in the iconic Ames Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places while still widely referred to as the city’s ‘original skyscraper’. Constructed in 1893, the 114-room boutique getaway is conveniently situated near the township’s busy financial district.
It also sits within close proximity of many public transit access points, including ‘T’ stations at Haymarket, State Street, and Government Center. The place abuts numerous beloved landmarks and old-world neighbourhoods, including the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, and Beacon Hill.
The 15-storey high-rise merges the past, present, and future to afford a blend of modern style and classic sophistication. Honouring its heritage, the redesign preserved various original features, including the lobby’s tiled mosaic arched ceiling and a marble staircase that runs from the first floor to the roof.
Upon arrival, Curio guests will enter a re-imagined foyer featuring sleek check-in stations and a casual seating area accented by warmly-toned wood shelving and trim pieces. Adjacent to said entryway is a new Library Room boasting the same eye-catching, mid-century design scheme.
“Ames Boston Hotel is an iconic landmark. With our first property in Boston, we look forward to providing leisure and business guests the unique experience they seek from Curio when visiting spectacular destinations around the globe,” said Mark Nogal, Global Head at Curio – A Collection by Hilton.
Hilton was a winner at the 2014-2015 World Branding Awards under the Hotels (Global) category.
