Church’s Chicken has signed Volunteer Chicken on as a franchisee; the latter will open 10 Tennessee restaurants over the next five years.
Church’s Chicken is set to undergo a $40 million domestic expansion over the next decade. Volunteer Chicken recently secured the rights to open 10 restaurants across Tennessee’s Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, with another 10-restaurant deal expected to follow in 2021.
Together with financing partner, ADP, the new franchisee will unveil the first Church’s Chicken outlet in the fall of 2017, with the rest to follow over the next five years. By 2021, the group plans to pursue the development of 10 additional branches over another five after the initial setup.
“We have always been about smart business and building a superior brand. We’re looking forward to the impact Volunteer Chicken is going to make in the Tennessee communities it will serve,” said Bill Schreiber, VP of Global Business Development at Church’s Chicken / Texas Chicken.
