Zaid Al-Qassab, who has been with BT for the last four years, will be joining Channel 4 as the new Chief Marketing Officer from September.
The marketing and brand specialist has an impressive CV having worked with BT, EE and Plusnet in marketing and communications, branding and sponsorship. He has also held roles as a non-executive director for Advertising Standards Agency and on the board of Water Aid.
He will report directly to the chief executive, Alex Mahon. Mahon says, “Zaid has a track record of leadership in marketing for some of the UK’s biggest consumer and technology brands, as well as a huge amount of experience in digital transformation and brand building,”
“I’m delighted he’s joining us at Channel 4 where he’ll play an integral role in ensuring our award-winning marketing becomes even more digitally focussed.” he continues.
On Twitter Al-Qassab said of the move: “I’m so excited to be joining such an amazing, award-winning team @Channel4 on a brand I love with a purpose I really believe in; but sad to leave my brilliant @BTGroup @bt_uk @EE @Plusnet @WeAreOpenreach colleagues – it’s been so much fun.”
