The brand ambassador appointment by parent company, Marquee Brands, signifies the return of Bruno Magli to the American market
Luxury Italian designer, Bruno Magli, has named Hollywood actress, director, artiste, and humanitarian, Lucy Liu, its brand ambassador. The appointment supports the marque’s move to relaunch its Women’s Collection after a three-year hiatus in the United States for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season.
Reimagined to captivate powerful and confident women, the line’s rejuvenated variety will range from heels to flats. The fashion icon and long-time friend of the brand is collaborating with Bruno Magli to return to its roots. The collaboration will see the release of a style in her namesake dubbed the Lucy Shoe.
“The Bruno Magli Women’s Collection has historically been sold at better department stores including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks Fifth Avenue. With this relaunch, we will respond to the loyal customer demands for its return,” said Michael DeVirgilio, President of Marquee Brands.
Meanwhile, as a UNICEF ambassador since 2004, involving herself in its campaigns and initiatives, Liu has been influential in backing the organisation’s mission to improve children’s lives worldwide. As part of the deal, she will donate a portion of her proceeds to benefit the aforementioned non-profit foundation.
Keeping in line with its heritage, the debut collection is set to feature signature hardware and ornamentation as well as exquisite detailing in leather, patent leather, and calf suede. The shoes to be produced in colours such as nudes, blacks, and brights will entail a distinctive look inspired by the brand’s archives.
“Lucy is sophisticated, gorgeous, multi-talented and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to fashion. She completely embodies the spirit and class of the brand, representing the millions of women who have stepped into Bruno Magli shoes for decades,” said Cory M. Baker, Chief Operating Officer of Marquee Brands.
