adidas Y-3 has revealed its stellar Chapter 3 collection, keeping abreast of its conceptual drive. While exploring these athletic silhouettes, one can look at them through the lens of Yohji Yamamoto‘s vision.
For over twenty years, adidas has been working with creative genius and Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto, translating his vision into its products.
This year, the adidas Fall/Winter campaign spotlights the enigmatic Y-3 collection, transforming modern sportswear fashion. The complete range of apparel includes jackets, t-shirts, hoodies, vests, skirts, and pants.
The athletic footwear integrates the Y-3 Centennial Hi and Y-3 Centennial Lo in its series, thereby reimagining athletic footwear silhouettes with an elevated material and impressive design. Further, the collection takes a dig at adidas’ signature archival silhouettes with the Y-3 Superstar, Y-3 Marathon Tr, and Y-3 Gazelle.
While preserving its sports-centric identity, the adidas Y3 integrates metallic detailing and padded utilitarian shirting. Amidst this sophisticated scheme, the collection entails vests with embossed decor, cropped hoodies, and essential blazers. The new edition also pairs parachute skirts with leather varsity jackets.
The Y-3 Fall/Winter Chapter 3 is accompanied by impressive accessories such as gym bags, backpacks, knit beanies, caps, elevated totes, and more.
adidas Y-3 Merges Athletic Silhouettes in a Vibrant Setting
The footwear brand stays true to its vision and perception throughout this campaign. Journeying to Germany to shoot the collection, the exclusive campaign was shot by local photographer Lengua under the direction of Thyago Sainte. Additionally, the campaign features musical figures to showcase the thriving community of Berlin.
The amalgamation of music sensations features LA Timpa, a Nigerian-based producer, singer, and songwriter; Tricky, a British musician and rapper; Mobile Girl, an electric DJ and experimental musician; Tobias, a.k.a. Why Be a Korean music producer; Bill Kouligas, a designer, musician, and artist; and Dimitra and Soraya, a DJ duo.
With its release, the adidas Y-3 sports-inspired design brings a new wave of creativity and energy. The sportswear collection is available on adidas Y-3 global retailers or its official website beginning the 1st of August.
