Look at the Details of Honda Koraidon Project
Inspired by the spirit of realising childhood dreams, Honda has embarked on its own extraordinary journey with the Koraidon Project. Following in the footsteps of the Toyota Engineering Society’s “Toyota Miraidon,” which championed the power of adult dedication to bring fantasy to life, Honda sought to create a uniquely Honda experience. Driven by the company’s unwavering commitment to monozukuri, the art of manufacturing, the Honda Koraidon Project, launched in August 2024, aims to translate the fantastical mobility of Koraidon from “Pokémon Scarlet” into a tangible, rideable reality.

A dedicated team of approximately 40 engineers, drawn from Honda’s Motorcycle and Power Products Businesses and Innovative Research Excellence, united under the slogan, “Honda’s Devotion Makes Children’s Dreams Come True.” Leveraging the design philosophy and simulation technology honed within Honda’s motorcycle division, combined with the advanced self-balancing technology from Innovative Research Excellence, the team is meticulously crafting a “Sprinting Build” Koraidon.
Their goal is to capture the essence of the in-game character, paying close attention to weight, size, movement, and self-standing capabilities while embodying Honda’s vision of mobility. This ambitious endeavour culminated in the public unveiling of the “Honda Koraidon” in Aoyama, Tokyo, from March 7-9, 2025, marking a significant milestone in bridging the gap between digital fantasy and real-world innovation.
Get Ready to Ride Koraidon

The Honda Koraidon is a bold leap into the realm of fantastical mobility. This isn’t merely a static replica; it’s a testament to Honda’s unwavering pursuit of engineering excellence. In a thrilling collaboration with The Pokémon Company, Honda brings the legendary Koraidon from “Pokémon Scarlet” to life. Painstakingly crafted to achieve near life-size dimensions and weight, the Honda Koraidon embodies the character’s essence down to the minutest details.

But Honda’s ambition extends beyond mere replication. Drawing upon its pioneering self-balancing technology, a legacy that traces its roots to the groundbreaking ASIMO robot and the Honda Riding Assist showcased at CES 2017; Honda is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. This technology will enable the Honda Koraidon to perform feats unseen in the game: walking on all fours and seamlessly transitioning to a stable, two-wheeled stance. By applying this advanced system to Koraidon’s “Sprinting Build,” Honda is not just creating a vehicle; it’s forging a bridge between the digital and the physical, transforming a beloved fictional creature into a symbol of future mobility.
Koraidon: The Ancient Legend
Koraindon is a legendary Pokémon that appears in “Pokémon Scarlet,” the video game released in 2022. As the story progresses, Koraidon regains its abilities while travelling with the main character, such as walking on four legs (Limited Build), running by using its strong limbs (Sprinting Build), swimming at high speed (Swimming Build), and gliding in the sky (Gliding Build), to carry its rider to many places.
